Littsburgh 3.0: Literary Pittsburgh After Dark!
Featuring: Spring Cleaning, Events, #PAKindnessPoems, and more...
Littsburgh continues to grow and evolve every year, and we’re always working behind the scenes to keep the site looking as fresh and fun as the literary community we’ve been celebrating since 2015!
In that spirit, we recently turned a little routine maintenance into a week-long overhaul (our yearly spring cleaning) and we’re so excited to report that Littsburgh is loading super-fast and looking better than ever.
Our favorite update: Night Mode!
If you’re a fan of the dark, click the sun icon in the right-hand corner of our homepage to let your screen-weary eyes rest in a cool wash of grays :)
A lot of our updates may be too small to notice, but if you haven't checked out the site in a while, now’s a great time to check back in. We’ve been running Littsburgh as a passion project for almost six years now, so THANK YOU to everyone who’s helped us spread the word along the way (and to all of our new friends and followers for inspiring us to keep spreading the word about literary Pittsburgh).
As always, lots of events and updates are featured below!
Your friends,
Rachel, Nick, and Katie

The PA Kindness Poem Project: “Share Your Kindness” with #PAKindnessPoem!
“This year-long initiative invites residents to share messages on social media that promote generosity, healing, reconciliation, and peace.”
Q&A: Samantha DeFlitch (Confluence)
“The three sections of her book are named for these rivers, and there are many poems of place here, the author’s home turf, its backroads and bridges, state lines, amusement parks, a town called Zelienople, even Pittsburgh itself, depicted most provocatively as a city of ‘accidental lesbians.’”
Eulalia Books’ “Katabasis” Named Finalist for PEN Award
PEN Award finalists include contributions from Eulalia Books, The University of Pittsburgh Press, and Autumn House Press!
Start Reading The Souls of Clayhatchee by Dr. Anthony Todd Carlisle
“A fictional story following James Kingsman’s pilgrimage to the South to fulfill his mother’s last wish of being buried in her hometown of Clayhatchee, Alabama. James soon unearths long-hidden secrets about his family; secrets steeped in racism and rage. Some ghosts cannot stay buried.”
Start Reading Magic in Blood, the thrilling debut by 19-year-old Mayté Losada
“Mayté Losada is the debut author of the A Darkness So Blessed and Wicked trilogy. Born in an Italian canton in Switzerland, she later moved to Canada and the US. Losada currently resides in Allison Park with her family while studying at the New York Film Academy.”
